With Halloween parties, fairs and festivals bringing people out across the Pine Belt this weekend, the Mississippi Highway Patrol is urging drivers to make responsible decisions before getting behind the wheel.
Mississippi reported 4,221 deer-related crashes in 2025, a 6% increase from the 3,960 crashes reported in 2024, according to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT). MDOT is reminding motorists to watch for deer as the animals become more active during the fall and winter months.
