Preparation underway for former Pres. Clinton’s visit

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Preparation is underway for a visit by former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton is scheduled to visit Tupelo on Friday to attend a campaign rally for U.S. Senate candidate Scott Colom and other Democratic candidates running in the midterm election.

The event, organized by the group Mississippi Forward, will take place at the Link Centre. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the rally begins at 6 p.m.

Attendance is limited, and attendees are required to RSVP in advance.

The main venue holds approximately 400 people, with additional overflow space available for 100 people.

“All guests must RSVP as there’s plenty of excitement about President Clinton coming to town to support Scott Colom and all these other MS leaders,” said Tyler Johnson, a representative with Mississippi Forward.

Nearby Douglas Street will be closed Friday for the event. Specific start and end times for the street closure have not yet been confirmed.

Attendees must bring a driver’s license and allow extra travel time.
