ADAMSVILLE, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - An Alabama man wanted on warrants from three different counties was arrested after two chases in Adamsville on Tuesday night, according to police.

Adamsville police went to Walmart around 10:30 p.m. after reports of a suspected shoplifter. When they got there, a suspect, now identified as Justin Green, drove away on a motorcycle. Officers tried to stop him from leaving the parking lot, but he was able to get around the officers and leave.

Officers pursued Green, and the chase eventually ended at the Chevron on Forestdale Boulevard. Officers were able to arrest him there. They noted he was handcuffed behind his back and put in a patrol car.

Adamsville police said they then worked to determine the suspect’s name and have a wrecker service retrieve the motorcycle. During that time, Green allegedly managed to move his handcuffed hands from behind his back to the front of his body. He then climbed through the partially open window of the police car, got into the driver’s area and drove away from the scene in the Adamsville Police Department patrol car.

Officers chased Green again. This chase ended in downtown Birmingham when Green ultimately surrendered to the officers. He was taken back into custody.

According to Adamsville police, Green is from Birmingham, and he has outstanding felony warrants from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

Green was taken to the Adamsville City Jail. Police said additional charges are pending.
