...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT FOR COLBERT...FRANKLIN AND WESTERN LAWRENCE COUNTIES... At 1021 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated an earlier complex of slow- moving thunderstorms produced two to three inches of heavy rain across the warned area. This has resulted in localized flash flooding across much of Franklin, Colbert, and western Lawrence Counties. Although this rainfall has tapered off, expect these flooding issues to linger through the rest of the morning. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Town Creek, Littleville, Leighton and Belgreen.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for... Northern Marion County in northwestern Alabama...
* Until 1100 AM CDT.
* At 757 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen according to radar estimates.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hamilton, Haleyville, Hackleburg, Brinn, Bear Creek, Tessner, Bexar, Pigeye, Shottsville and Upper Bear Creek Reservoir.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
