NWS Memphis (Western Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Northern Mississippi)

...FREEZING FOG LIKELY ACROSS THE MID-SOUTH TUESDAY MORNING... ...FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CST THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Freezing Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 10 AM CST this morning.

* VISIBILITY/TEMPERATURE...Visibility will be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less at many locales. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 20s areawide.

* TIMING...Current through 10 AM CST.

* IMPACTS...The fog will be dense at times, especially near bodies of water, and could result in slippery conditions on area bridges and overpasses, in addition to reducing visibility for driving.

A Freezing Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.

...FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST THIS MORNING... ...FREEZING FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Freezing Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM CST this morning.

* TIMING...Current through 9 AM CST.

* VISIBILITY...Visibility will be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less at many locales. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s areawide.

* IMPACTS...In addition to hazardous driving due to reduced visibility, a frost and/or glaze could result in slippery conditions on area bridges and overpasses especially near bodies of water.

A Freezing Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.

* TEMPERATURES...As low as 23.

* VISIBILITIES...Visibility reductions to one quarter of a mile are possible in the western portions of Lauderdale, Colbert and Franklin counties of northwest Alabama.

* TIMING...Until 8 AM CST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Moisture freezing on road surfaces could lead to slick spots from icing, as well as reductions in visibilities due to the dense fog.

* LOCATIONS...Lauderdale, Colbert and Franklin Counties.

A Freezing Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for icing, especially on elevated surfaces. Even well traveled roads can become coated with ice.
