The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Arkansas and
Mississippi, including the following areas, in southeast Arkansas,
Ashley and Chicot. In Mississippi, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw,
Clay, Grenada, Humphreys, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Oktibbeha,
Sunflower, Washington and Webster.
* Through Saturday morning
* A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.You
should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
* Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways,
streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying
areas.
Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
