...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM CDT FOR COLBERT...FRANKLIN AND WESTERN LAWRENCE COUNTIES... At 845 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. widespread rainfall amounts of one to three inches of rain have already fallen, with localized amounts up to 4 inches in a few locations. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly or may be already occurring in areas that received rainfall in excess of 2 inches in the last hour! Some locations that will experience flooding include... Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Town Creek, Littleville, Leighton and Belgreen.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for... Northern Marion County in northwestern Alabama...
* Until 1100 AM CDT.
* At 757 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen according to radar estimates.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hamilton, Haleyville, Hackleburg, Brinn, Bear Creek, Tessner, Bexar, Pigeye, Shottsville and Upper Bear Creek Reservoir.
