...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST TUESDAY... ...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 10 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, several hours of sub-freezing temperatures are expected tonight through Tuesday morning and again from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be in the middle to upper 20s Tuesday morning and upper teens to lower 20s Wednesday morning, with afternoon temperatures on Tuesday only warming into mid 30s. Wind chills will be as low as 10 to 15 degrees. For the Wind Advisory, north winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are possible through Tuesday afternoon.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, northeast and west central Mississippi and northeast Louisiana.

* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, from midnight tonight to 10 AM CST Wednesday. For the Wind Advisory, until 6 PM CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Strong, gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 PM CST TUESDAY... ...FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TUESDAY TO 10 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures between 25 and 31 degrees tonight. Wednesday morning temperatures will drop to between 17 and 22 degrees. For the Wind Advisory, north winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northeast, northwest and west central Alabama.

* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, from 3 AM Tuesday to 10 AM CST Wednesday. For the Wind Advisory, from 11 PM this evening to 5 PM CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
