...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee, including the following areas, in East Arkansas, Clay, Greene, and Mississippi. In North Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, DeSoto, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Marshall, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union. In Southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In West Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton, and Weakley.

* Heavy rainfall has occurred over portions of East Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, West Tennessee and North Mississippi during the last 24 hours. Additional rainfall is forecast tonight over the Flash Flood Watch area, some of which could be heavy. Residents are urged to be prepared to take action in areas of persistent heavy rainfall. Do not drive into flooded areas...Turn around and don`t drown.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
