OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) — The Ole Miss Rebels are excited about welcoming ESPN College GameDay to the Grove.

Erika Simmonds and her friends were freshmen the first time ESPN College GameDay was at Ole Miss in 2014. She said they are excited to be back for this second experience.

"Back then, you had to save a spot on the Grove so there were blankets everywhere, people playing football. It was a really good time," said Simmonds.

This is the first time the College GameDay has been at Ole Miss in seven years. Host Rece Davis said he is glad be back for another showdown.

"There's a vibrancy that comes with going to a new place or a place we haven't been in awhile," he said. "I really think we get some extra juice when we go to a place that has never hosted the show or hasn't hosted in some time."

Student Regan Turnley said he is ready for the big game.

"I'm excited for the Grove to be absolutely packed, and this is supposed to be one of the craziest weekends of college football. So I'm excited," said Turnely.

The University of Mississippi will play Texas A&M University Saturday at 6 p.m.
