JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 4,041 additional COVID cases and 65 more deaths in its Friday morning report.

Thirty-five deaths occurred between July 8 and Aug. 26 in Adams (2), Benton, Chickasaw, Clay (2), Desoto (3), Greene, Hancock (2), Harrison (4), Hinds (3), Jackson (2), Jones, Leake, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Neshoba, Pearl River (2), Prentiss (3), Rankin, Tishomingo and Warren counties.

Thirty deaths occurred between Feb. 18 and Aug. 21, identified from death certificate reports, in Adams, Carroll, Copiah, Forrest (3), George, Hancock, Harrison, Hinds (3), Jefferson Davis, Lauderdale (4), Lee, Lowndes, Madison (2), Marshall, Panola, Pearl River, Rankin, Simpson, Stone, Tunica, Warren and Yazoo counties.

Since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, the MSDH has reported 427,640 total cases and 8,279 total deaths.
