police officers saved someone's life someone who was in a dangerous spot apparently trying to attempt suicide.. w-t-v-a's nicole dantzler is live in columbus with how police rescued this person. the rescue happened here on this bridge.crossing the luxapalila river. officers got frightening calls about someone trying to jump off a bridge. it all started tuesday night around 6 p-m. a distraught person stood on the top edge of the luxapilila bridge. witnesses said the person threatened to jump into the river on highway 182 near propst park. columbus police officers and firefighters wasted no time in closing the bridge and talking to the person. minutes later, three officers removed the person from the bridge.. now the police department is helping the individual receive treatment. police chief fred shelton said this is not only a teaching moment for officers bit for anyone who's crying out for help.. chief shelton added that this was an event of compassion and action, and it shows the true spirit of the officers. live in columbus nicole dantzler wtva nine news everything is back to normal
