say the search is on for an auto burglar in west point. this after an officer caught someone trying to break into a car outside of a school.. wtvas nicole dantzler joins us with what the school had to do to keep southside elementary students safe. ((intro)) quite an alarming time for students and faculty after southside elementary school went under a lockout this morning. ((vo)) assistant police chief kennedy meaders said he got the call this morning from the school's resource officer. meaders said someone jumped the school's fence and the officer caught them trying to break into a car. the officer went after the burglar but got hurt in the process. meaders said thats when the burglar escaped into the woods. now west point police officers are searching the area to catch the burglar.
