"howdy!" maddi fleming serving for the set and the match. lady eagles can't return it. lady mustangs win the third set, 25-12, to get a three-oh sweep. mantachie improves to ten-and-one on the season. more scores at wtva.com. we're just a couple of weeks into the high school football season and we already have several shakeups in the polls. there are four new number one teams this week. one of them is up for our friday night fever game of the week. smithville is the new number one team in class 1a. the seminoles visit mantachie this friday. louisville, after its win over west point, remains number one in class 4a. lafayette county is the new number one in class 5a. west point slips to second. madison central is the new number one in class 6a and overall. starkville is fourth and south panola is fifth. you can find all the polls at wtva.com. normally, the ap college football poll is released on sunday. but because of the labor day weekend that saw games played on sunday and monday, the new poll wasn't released until today. not a lot of changes this week. the top five remains the same. clemson, alabama, georgia, oklahoma, and ohio state, in that order. lsu remains number six. auburn jumped from sixteen to ten after its win over oregon. florida actually dropped from eighth to eleventh after its close win over miami. texas a m remains 12th. i'm voting in the ap poll this year, so here's a sample of my ballot. my top eleven remained the same. my top five is clemson, alabama, oklahoma, ohio state, and georgia. i moved up auburn up to number 12 this week and dropped oregon to nineteen. mississippi state moved up one spot to number 21 on my ballot. i post my ballot on my twitter and facebook pages each week. last thursday was the opening night for community college football, and that was a wild night. defending national champion east mississippi was upset by hinds. jones was upset by coahoma. northwest won at east central, and the rangers are now the state's highest ranked team nationally at number four. east mississippi dropped to fifth. gulf coast is sixth. co-lin is thirteenth, hinds is fourteenth, and jones dropped from fourth to seventeenth. coahoma, pearl river and northeast are all receiving votes. from football to futbol. icc soccer hosting hinds. ladies first. ashley hayward was the story in this one. two assists and a hat trick. this is hayward's third goal. icc wins, six-nothing. to the men's game. indians were down, two-nil, at one point, but in the 88th minute, it's two-two. clayton o'daniel with what turns out to be the game-winning goal. icc wins, 3-2. indians remain undefeated. that's sports. more
