job. anchor governor phil bryant and leaders at bancorp south stood announced plans to build more office space and create 100 new jobs . "these are data job these are the types of jobs that we look to the young people who are staying here coming out of our universities." over the next few years bancorp south here in tupelo will spend about 15 million dollars expanding the building and job openings. city and state leaders summed it up in one word. ((nats)) "growth." "grow." "it will continue to grow." gov. phil bryant says this growth is something mississippi fought for and won. "there were eight different states here that wanted these systems and thank goodness dan rawlings and his team decided to keep them here in tupelo, ms." according to bancorpshouth leaders, the use of technology in the banking industry is constantly growing. with the new jobs... when that technology fails there will be people able to help. "sometimes it doesn't work and somebody needs to talk to someone on the telephone." according to bancorpsouth ceo dan rollins the new jobs will also help ensure the safety of bancorpsouth banking customers. "being able to protect customer data is apart of that we have a great information security team, we need to expand on that. according to mayor shelton tupelo is the smallest city in the u.s. that serves as a home to two banks with over 10 billion dollars and this expansion just adds to tupelo's title as bank city u.s.a. in addition to the expansion here at the bancorp south the city is planning, drivers in tupelo may see a benefit at well. i will have more coming up tonight at 6. message history
