two division titles in the last three seasons in class 3a. but this season, the vikings are making the move up to class 4a. andy crotwell's squad features 50 players, ten of which are seniors. sophomore t.j. polk will start at quarterback. polk had a nice outing in the vikings' win over holly springs in saturday's oxford jamboree. he has targets like hayes malone and caden wilson to throw to, and those two will also be among the leaders on defense. north pontotoc kicks off the regular season at home on friday against saltillo. crotwell: "i think that we feel good about where our offensive line is, and we had one or two question marks there, and then defensively, i think the new guys have run to the football well, and played good assignment football like we did last year, so those questions are answered, and of course, we need to see, the other questions really pertain to friday night and what happens when lights come on." malone: "hopefully, we can just show the younger guys how it's done, and really help them on and off the field, show them positions wise where they need to be, and just the routes they need to run, and spots they need to be at." myrtle's football
