just finished about bringing broadband internet to to electric customers... this just over a week after organizations have started to sign on for rural broadband by electric co-ops... wtvas evan hensley was there and joins us live with what happened and if any changes will be made... around 500 people came out tonight to listen and discuss the future of broadband internet in monroe county representatives from the monroe county electric power association shared with the public their data on the decision... while public service commissioner brandon presley who is from monroe county.. shared why he believes they need it... the meeting was to push the decision to move forward... presley helped present a paper to sign to have a special called meeting on saturday to talk about making changes to move forward to get broadband internet... but the board said no because of a part of it saying that an advisory board would he put in place... presley said he was very disappointed with the decision by the electric association. "it makes me sick, there were probably 500 people that are members and own the monroe county electic association. they asked for three simple things from this board." "we want to see how those studies compare and our board they mentioned to me in those surveys they will look at cooperatives in other states. to see what the does and don'ts are." what is next... is a second feasibility survey to which could take up to two months to see where the board can go and if they want to pursue... i will have more reaction at wtva 9 news today in the morning... reporting live in becker eh wtva 9 news still ahead on wtva nine news at ten,
