"volleyball is a sport that's growing pretty quickly in north mississippi. several area high schools have already been playing the sport, and many of them have now added it. itawamba community college has started a program, and so has blue mountain college. the toppers are led by reid gann, who had a successful as head volleyball coach at new albany high school. blue mountain doesn't have a home court as of yet, so the toppers are playing and practicing at nearby ripley high school. the roster consists mainly of freshmen and transfers from other schools. the toppers have already played some exhibition scrimmages, and they'll open their first season this coming weekend at a tournament in bowling green, kentucky."
