high school's football team has spent some of its practice time at an area called "the goat ranch." it's called that, because the field used to be a goat ranch. it's not easy to get to, but it's not far from the baseball and football fields. mooreville head coach jimmy young has 49 players on this year's roster. the troopers won't play in a jamboree this weekend, but open with booneville on august 23rd. young says his team should be more solid defensively in 2019. he says the troopers will be more athletic than usual. mooreville has eleven seniors, but their quarterback is sophomore dawson phillips, who will have lots of weapons at his disposal, led by receiver kha'sen mitchell, who's getting looks from division one schools. goes." young: "kha'sen's just one of those kids you want on your team, i wish i could have about seven of him on my team, the lord blessed him with some freakish athletic abilities, just naturally strong and things along those lines, but his work ethic is very good, hard worker out here, he comes out here and brings the intensity level up every day for the kids around him." mitchell: "last year, we ran the ball a lot, but now, we're spreading it out, i think it's gonna work a lot better concerning the offense, so, we're gonna see how it
