happened imagine showing up at the drivers license office to get your license renewed and finding out its closed..for the unforseeable future. that's what happened to at least one man we talked to. " i come down here to try to and get a situation fixed. i applied for a job and they told me that my drivers record something came back wrong." patrick thompson drove from mantachie to tupelo only to find out that the drivers license office was closed. "everybody i talked to ,they said everything is clean i have no fines everything's been paid. but it keeps showing up on my record and i can't figure out why this is happening. and i come out here to try to fix it today and its closed." closed, the bureau says, because of a system outage. the state department of public safety says the department of information technology services is working to fix the problem. standup..'there were folks working inside this drivers license office in tupelo. but they said their only purpose was to tell people who came that they were closed for the day." and maybe closed indefinitely. that's something north mississippians were not thrilled to hear. " i just think its unfair because there's so many people that depend on that kind of thing to help them and stuff and just think its just no right." "how are they going to get their drivers licenses?" " i didn't know they was closed. i'm just glad i didn't need any." "its just all uncalled for. somebody needs to make some changes and get some things done in the state." if you want to keep up with what's going on at the drivers license stations check out our website at wtva.com reporting live in tupelo wayne hereford wtva nine news.
