open.... happening now, the tupelo city council is considering an offer that would have people in the city paying more money for garbage pickup... wtva's evan hensley joins us live with when the council may be making this decision... the council held a work session this afternoon to talk about who will be picking up the trash in the city... they received a pitch from one business who could do that job... here at waste management... city has received." the city has been on a contract with waste management for years... overall the contract is staying the same... recycling and trash pickup will remain the same... but financially... a change is being made... the price per month per household will go up from 13.42 to 14.12. that is a 70 cent increase from the previous deals... if the contract is accepted... it will take off at the beginning of october.. and that is likely... as this is the only offer the city has received... it is expected to go to vote here in the upcoming weeks... this will help the company with expanding it's location here on coley road and to add more environmental friendly trucks to the line up. reporting live in tupelo eh wtva 9 news still ahead on wtva nine news at
