the soccer fields at a local park. wtva's nicole dantzler joins us live in lowndes county with how these improvements can benefit soccer players.. the board of aldermen voted to use l-e-d lights for two soccer fields at ola j. pickett park. alderman bill darnell says the aldermen accepted four bids for the project at thursday's regular board meeting. darnell says this is part of a two- year project to improve the soccer complex. he says the town received a municipal grant to pay for the next phase of the project. this includes installing the new l-e-d lights for the first two soccer fields. the park has four soccer fields and two are used for other sports during the school year. darnell says the aldermen hope to eventually move all practices to the fields with new lighting. i saw small children playing soccer on one of the fields this afternoon, so i spoke with one of the assistant coaches for soccer. elizabeth laster says her kids play soccer here. she says this park is where she sees kids spending most of their time during the week. "the led lights are going to make it where the kids can play and see the ball better, and it's going t make it where it's more usable and user friendly for everybody." elizabeth laster- caledonia she says any improvements to the park will enhance the community. the board expects to install the led lights by this soccer season (when is that?). live in caledonia nicole dantzler wtva nine news. and work continues on a section of state route 4 in
