Victim of acid attack files lawsuit against former Webster County sheriff

Former Webster County sheriff, Tim Mitchell, has been named in a civil lawsuit by a woman who had acid thrown on her.

former webster county sheriff tim mitchell has been named in a civil lawsuit by a woman who had acid thrown on her. she claims her husband should have been in jail but was out on a weekend furlough when he attacked her. wtvas nicole dantzler joins us live with the events leading up to the lawsuit and the people she is seeking damages from. felicia robinson's attorney, tells me they are suing webster county, former sheriff tim mitchell and two other people whose actions led to her attack. ." ((take pkg)) "sheriff mitchell as policy maker of the county implemented certain policies or practices that, and we allege this in our complaint, that gave certain inmates a lot of latitude to do various things." matthew wilson- attorney rt-0:16 the lawsuit filed in federal court claims sheriff tim mitchell granted robinson's husband, daren patterson, a weekend furlough in september of 2018. the lawsuit claims he chased her with a car and eupora police responded and filed a report. robinson says despite information on the september incident, mitchell again granted daren robinson a furlough in november. on november second, the lawsuit states felicia robinson called the jail to report her husband had punched a hole in the wall. she claims the dispatcher failed to dispatch a deputy to investigate. the lawsuit says the dispatcher had another inmate talk to patterson on the phone to try. the lawsuit says after the phone conversation ended daren patterson attacked robinson with sulfuric acid. she suffered second and third degree burns in the attack. wilson and robinson say his reckless disregard led to her injuries. "i will say that working her case is a top priority for me and getting justice for her within the bounds of the law, within fairness, within reason and equity.." patterson is currently in the chickasaw county jail where hes ordered to serve the last four years of his eight year sentence. robinson's attorney says the defendents will have 21 days to reply to the lawsuit once they are served with a copy. live in webster county nicole dantzler wtva nine news. on monday we learned
