chance to board a retired boeing 747-400 at the tupelo regional airport universal asset management put on the event for aviation experience day. jeff sabo, the senior vice president of universal asset management, spent the day giving tours of the aircraft that was manufactured in 1993. according to sabo, the aircraft was just in the air less than two weeks ago as it flew from sydney to las angeles and then here to tupelo just few days ago. sabo said the first step was to remove the engines and in about 4 weeks they will have it completely gutted. according to sabo, he not only wants people to understand the process of salvaging aircraft parts but he wants to offer people a once in a life-time chance on board. " we are looking for second lives for these aircrafts. so as far as second lives go we are taking these components of this aircraft, sending them to faa certified repair stations and re certify the parts and then we're the selling them back into the global market place" you may remember the man who gave away
