in mississippi are on high alert after the mississippi department of public safety received information of a credible threat made against them. it comes less than 48 hours after the us marshals shot and killed a man in memphis wtvas amanda haley is live at the lee co sheriff's department where they are taking precautions. according to lee co sheriff jim johnson , the fbi notified him yesterday of a threat several gangs made to all law enforcement. johnson tells me the threat is related to the memphis riots but it is a blanket statement for law enforcement everywhere. johnson says police threats are not new to them but he says when more than one gang is involved...he takes it more seriously. johnson says that many gang members are already housed in penitentiaries. according to johnson they can be just as dangerous as people on the street. according to johnson, it is and always has been important for law enforcement to always be aware of their surroundings. johnson says when incidents like this happen law enforcement should be prepared at all times. catches us off guard." "you have weeks and months and sometimes years of retaliation after that. so you have to prepare and plan and we've been prepared so it won't be something that catches us off guard." johnson says the fbi will continue to update all law enforcement if threats specific to location or department are made. at chief meteorologist matt
