welcome back. i'm emily leonard. as we reported on wtva nine news at six...a man moving from one side of the country to the other...was doing so without man's best friend. this after his dog ran away after he was involved in a pile-up on i-22 in tupelo on monday. but she's been found! wtva's daniella oropeza joins us with the dog herself and when she will be reunited with her owner. emily, this is maka and she was found last night when she walked to a home along a country road between veterans road and eason boulevard. was through the power of social media and our community that she was found. to find her ." "she jumped out and ran away." joel reagan was passing through tupelo on i-22...moving from denver, colorado to tampa, florida to be closer to family and for a new start. "there was some traffic and construction signs, and traffic was slowing down. the next thing we know someone came from behind at a high rate of speed and crashed into us." and it was in this area that the pile up happened. reagan said that when his dog jumped out of the car and ran off along the road. but it was quickly that help arrived for reagan and the search for maka. "people just jumped into action from tupelo. right when the accident happened, they were rushing to make sure we were okay." and on social media...the search for maka went viral...with people posting sitings of her running along i-22 and others taking it upon themselves to find her. reagan had to head back to florida today ( monday ), but he will be reunited with maka soon. she will actually stay with me. i've had a trip planned to florida for the first week of july and i will meet reagan then to reunite he and maka. he told us he wanted to give a shoutout to our community...from police, firmen and citizens. he said he's never experienced the hospitality he received while
