"oxford is so walkable, so we've got a great self-guided walking tour that gives a description of all the historic buildings on the square and homes just off the square." and walk to rowan oak or the ole miss campus... "we're a literary destination." of course, there's football in the fall and double decker in the spring...but hedges tells me their job is to show you there's always something to do here...even during the not so busy months. in january...there's pop-up oxford...a week full of events including a hotel hop, an art crawl and ole miss basketball. "even locals aren't getting out, so we feel like this was a really good way to create great program for people to go out to eat and come to oxford and get a great rate on a hotel and just kind of make a vacation out of it." with all these events year- round...you may wonder how city officials and those at visit oxford have time to plan for anything else...but they do and they get right to work to make it happen.
