in their first-ever njcaa world series appearance. the indians won their opener on wednesday, 4-3, over louisburg on a walk-off base hit. thursday afternoon in clinton, the tribe faced highland of kansas in the second round. to traceway park we go, where we have highlights from wtva's andy lee. top of the first, joanna vasquez makes a diving catch in left field.... olivia burns freezes alexis hodapp to end the frame... no score after one complete inning... top of the third...hodapp up again... hope harbin robs her of a hit, but the out is deep enough to score chevelle sartin... that made it two-nothing, scotties... highland goes on to win in six innings by the final of 11-3. so icc falls into an elimination game against will face cuyahoga (kye-uh-hoe-guh) of ohio. indians down, one-nothing. mattie my-knee leads off the bottom of the first with a double to right- centerfield... however, my-knee unable to score... still one-nothing (kye-uh-hoe-guh) in the bottom of the third... hope harbin leads off the frame with a double of her own, but she would only get as far as third base... cuyahoga adds another run in the 4th on a fielders choice... olivia burns strikes out meredith deutsch to end the frame.. and thanks to a five-run sixth inning, icc wins, 5-3. indians will face johnson county, kansas in another elimination game friday at noon. in conference usa, southern miss defeats marshall, 10-5. the golden eagles have a bye until saturday. that's sports. more
