tupelo. an "under 10" tupelo parks and recreation soccer team won the state championship. w-t-v-a's kayla thompson spoke with some of the eagles soccer team about how it feels to be champions. 16 : 1:41 "it feels good because it was my first time winning one." maya anderson is a defender on the eagles soccer team. she's been on cloud 9 ever since the team took home the big trophy at the admiral cup in hattiesburg... (nats of parents cheering - game film) eagles forward,turbo taylor scored the winning goal. we all went crazy because it was a hard team and then they scored,(cover with b- roll) and then hayden scored the second goal of course and then we won and then we won and then we started jumping on our coach, and then we went to was great." - turbo (player) nats their coach wilson coleman played rec soccer when he was younger, and knows how it feels at a young age to win...which made this championship extra special... "i was lucky enough to win a state championship, it's not something every gets to experience." - coach stand up: the eagles say that this season taught them that if they can "strike" through anything they can make it. "throughout the years we've had some tough season, in fact there was a season where we didn't score a goal the entire season, but this year was special in the fact that the girls kept trying, developing their soccer skills and it paid off."
