slide has closed a portion of highway 6 in lee county. wtvas amanda haley is south of plantersville where drivers are forced to find another way around the work area. you can see the road is blocked off here behind me. this is a part of hwy 6 where a land slide has caused worries about the stability of the road way. a landslide on monday caused the shoulder of the roadway between county roads 452 and 1149 to fall. right now that shoulder is temporarily being held up by wooden beams. according to the tanner construction crew that is here, the wood will not last very long. they are working now to get steel poles up to help stabilize the roadway permanently. ((as live tag)) according to the mississippi department of transportation, the this portion of hwy 6 is expected to open back up by june 28. reporting live in tupelo, amanda haley, wtv a9 news one kindergarten class
