an animal sanctuary in caledonia may have a hard time feeding the animals after a tree fell and destroyed the freezer that stores the meat for the exotic animals. wtva's amanda haley is live with a look at that. an animal sanctuary in caledonia may have a hard time feeding the animals after a tree fell and destroyed the freezer that stores the meat for the exotic animals. wtva's amanda haley is in caledonia at cedarhill animal sanctuary with more on how the storm affected the sanctuary. im here at cedarhill animal sanctuary where over 300 animals are provided a comfortable environment. last nights storm stirred up that comfort at the sanctury. ." last night during the storms, a tree fell onto a freezer at the sanctuary. that freezer is the one that holds the 120 pounds of raw meat that the employess at the sanctuary go through daily to feed the exotic animals. the cedarhill animal sanctuary has many animals that require fresh meat to live. the includes 14 tigers, 2 lions, and 3 bobcats that live here. according to the armin gschwendtner, the groundskeeper at the sanctuary, they lost over $9,000 worth of meat. sot "as it stands right now its going to be a struggle. because its a lot of meat, beef to replace." according to employees at the sanctuary, the tree is being cut up and removed but the freezer and all of the meat inside of it is ruined. danny blackman is a exotic pet keeper at the sanctuary and he says his team at the sanctuary will do anything to take care of the animals.
