veterinarian speaking out against it...saying the rule targets pit bulls. wtva's amanda haley tells us he thinks that city council should change that rule. in chapter 6 article 5 of the citys ordinances it defines a dangerous animals as... according to the ordinance...anyo ne owning a pit bull or terrior mix are considered to be dangerous. veterinarian stephen king says should be judged by behavior instead of its breed. sot "if they have a terrier mix or one of the terrier breeds, the targeted breed in the ordinance, it penalizes them for being a responsible pet owner." (continued vo) dr. king says it's often hard to determine which have pit bull in them dr. king is not the only one who feels this way. markel whittington is a tupelo city council member and he thinks there is a need for a change in the ordinance. sot "i talked to our attorney. we'll look at that ordinance and see the possibility of maybe changing it and taking out the breed specific and just doing the dangerous
