organization is searching for answers after a man was caught on camera breaking in and stealing. wtvas nicole dantzler has the story on what happened.. a man was caught on camera breaking in and stealing from the veterans foreign wars on march 15. the one who caught him is the commander, dennis jewel, who plans to take on extra security measures. extra security measures ." "why would anybody want to break into the veteran's of foreign wars? we're a nonprofit organization you know. we do more for the community than a lot of people do. why would anybody want to break into a combat veteran's organization?" dennis jewell says he caught this man on seven cameras, breaking into the property and stealing several items on march 15. the commander says the man climbed up the fire escape and broke in through the second floor. dennis jewell and police officers watched a man walk through the bingo hall and circle the property four times around 4 a-m. this video shows the man standing on chairs to attempt to break in again, but this time from the patio. dennis jewell says the man left with a small amount of cash and alcohol from the property. "i'm mad, i ain't going to lie i'm mad about it. every member down here is a combat veteran and we got our own place down here to meet and all and to think that somebody would stoop low enough to break into a combat or any veteran's organization is not right." the police tried to find fingerprints, but dennis jewell says the suspect wore gloves. vfw repaired the door and the window that dennis jewell says was damaged during the incident. and now the organization plans to take on extra security measures. vfw is offering a 250 dollar reward for any information leading up to the man's conviction. live in columbus nicole dantzler wtva 9 news. message history the federal building in aberdeen will soon have
