community members of all ages came together to clean up the streets of tupelo today and have a little fun while doing it. i caught up with some of the volunteers and this is they had to say about the event. fun, fun, and more fun... "i just wanted to get out because i stay in the house a lot." its not often children would turn down staying at home to clean instead.howevermariey robinson and honor mabry joined 10 for tupelo to make their city look better. "we're helping the community, and when we get doneitsgoing to look very pretty." we're told hundreds of volunteers joined in picking up trash and painting over graffiti the downtown tupelo area. (jessebandre/ coordinator) "this has been a super successful day. i think the weather has helped out a lot last yeah we grossed over 11 tons of trash that we pick up through tupelo and we're hoping to double that this year." we're told although giving tupelo an annual facelift is hard work those who joined in helping the community we're able to play harder. the numbers for how much trash collected has not been determined just yet however we're told the number is expected to be much higher than it was last year...
