for the next few days...heavy rainfall and the threat of flash flooding returns to the mid-south thursday afternoon and continues through saturday night... .a frontal boundary will lift back north tomorrow afternoon and interact with several upper level disturbances thursday through saturday night. as a result, the mid-south will experience multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the next several days. another 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is expected...with isolated higher amounts to 6 inches or more. heavy rainfall on top of fully saturated grounds and swollen rivers and creeks will likely cause flash flooding.frontal systems will continue to be the weather focus over the next several days across our area. this will continue chances for some showers and thunderstorms in our weather forecast over the next several days. our best bet for severe weather will be found in our weather forecast for our saturday. temperatures will continue to be a bit on the up and down side at times over the next several days.
