installing new cameras all over campus to enhance public safety. wtva's nicole dantzler talked with the police chief to see where they are in the process.. thats right msu police are installing new cameras all over the campus and replacing old ones. now the difference between the old and new ones? they are much clearer and can clearly identify people when needed. ." if you remember this photo that msu posted earlier this week, police chief vance rice says the new camera system captured these three people clearly so they can be identified. after installing new cameras some in areas they plan to put some in all residence halls and parking lots. students here say they think this will increase public safety. "i'm definitely all for it you know anything to increase the safety of students and faculty i think is a good thing. and plus if it can increase response times in the potential of an emergency situation i'm all for it i think it's a great thing." "i feel like it'll just increase al the students safety and they'll be able to identify um the people who did it quicker instead of having to go around asking the public." and now the department is requiring any new buildings built here on campus to have this new camera system installed. but before they can put in any more cameras the chief says their biggest hurdle is finding a company to install it. live at msu, nd wtva 9 news its opening weekend for
