team. it's national signing day, where high school football players across the country make their official decisions on where they will play in college. wtva sports director jim holder joins us with a look at what's happened locally today. these days, we have two of these. there's the early signing period in december, and the regular signing day that we're used to here in february. we're doing things a little different this time. we're showcasing different signees on different shows, and we're posting them to we brought you saltillo, shannon, pontotoc and north pontotoc at four. it was a big day at tupelo high as 5 golden wavers signed letters of intent. running back jaquerrious 'j- rock' williams signed with northwest. quarterback stephon mcglaun signed with northeast. defensive lineman jacquess white signed with co-lin. linebacker keaton cager signed with icc. and defensive back tyson quinn signed with lagrange college, a division three school in georgia. back in december, jordan jernigan and tay standifer signed with ole miss. tupelo head coach trent hammond is proud of all his signees. love." 'they've been tremendous assets to our program and then to get to watch them sign and play on and live a dream, that's always good for me. it's no big feather in your cap other than just knowing that you're part of getting to watch some kids go on and do something that they really love.' new albany had a pair of players sign today. quarterback loden bolen signed with millsaps as a quarterback. jaden deaton signed with northeast as an 'athlete.' both guys were instrumental in the bulldogs' 7-5 season and third straight playoff appearance. bolen says playing quarterback in college is a life long dream, while deaton has one goal. it was adreamof mine." jadien deaton (signed with nemcc): 'to move on to the next level, then after that move on to another level. it's crazy to know not everybody gets this opportunity and to be blessed with the gifts that i was blessed with.' loden bolen (signed with millsaps college): 'its been my dream for a long time to be a college quarterback. for everything to work out the way it has my senior year, and then to be recruited, it was a dream of mine.' there were plenty of other signees across the area today. here are some pictures that have been sent in. at east webster, defensive tackle rashad hamilton is headed to mississippi delta community college. meanwhile, tishomingo county receiver alex cornelison has signed with northeast. cornelison only played four games as a senior due to injury, but he still had nearly 400 yards receiving and four touchdowns. he averaged nearly 23 yards per catch. and in calhoun city, jalen armstrong signed with copiah-lincoln. armstrong played on the offensive and defensive line for the wildcats. so you may be wondering, what about mississippi state and ole miss? coming up in sports at six, we'll show you how the day went for both schools. we also have division one signees in the area that are going out of state. until then, i'm jim holder, wtva nine sports. at least another day of weather like this... but then get
