former webster count sheriff tim mitchell pleaded not guilty to a 12-count indictment including embezzlement and attempting to have sex with an inmate in the county jail. wtva's waynehereford was in greneda county for that hearing today and joins us live with more. that's right . tim mitchell was calm as he and his attorney stood before a judge just before noon this morning. but he is facing some serious charges. ." we've reported to you that mitchell was arrested last month just months after submitting his resignation letter for what he called medical issues at the time. he later rescinded his resignation and is still being paid as the sheriff. despite mitchell's plea of not guilty the district attorney says that the charges are serious that he faces. stand up "both attorneys were on hand today, his defense attorney was there also his d.a. ." "this case we had people from the county including some of the officers with webster county that came and told us the problems that were going on and we investigated them and sure enough we found out they were true."
