school basketball county tournaments continue around the area. as we've mentioned, there are five of them this weekend. ingomar is hosting the union county tournament. lady falcons taking on west union in the semifinals. this was tight one in the first quarter, in front of a packed house. ingomar's lauren thompson, she'll sign with mississippi college next week, and here's one of the reasons why. thompson for three. she hit four of them in the first quarter. west union doesn't back down. annie orman with the old- fashioned three-point play, the hoop and the harm. lady eagles down by four. but ingomar is so tough, especially in front of the home crowd. katie beth hall knocks down the three. lady falcons go on to win, 58-43, to advance to saturday's championship game. right before that one, west union and ingomar boys. just under a minute to go, falcons leading by thirteen. eagles come up with a steal as they try to rally. but ingomar's tyson smithey comes up with the block. falcons would hit some free throws at the other end. next time down, dylan ewing with the jumper for west union. but it would not be enough. ingomarwins, 67-53, to advance to saturday's championship game. saltillo is hosting the lee county tournament. the first game featuring nettleton's girls versus mooreville. first quarter, first minute of the game. lady tigers pounce first. sharnec mosley for three. plenty of good highlights to shoot. lady troopers respond. off the inbounds pass, helen myers with the bank shot. mooreville down by one. at the other end, nettleton with another three. faith collier with the shooter's bounce. but hold the phone, because we've got one more highlight. time running out in the first quarter. mooreville's kara hays with the deep three to beat the buzzer. all nettleton after that, though. lady tigers win, 48-31, and they'll advance to saturday's championship game. the ole miss men'sbasketball team
