The Chandlers Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church joined with other local churches and organizations on Sat., Dec. 15 to provide groceries to one hundred families in the area.

local groups came together to do their part to helpthose in need this holiday season... they handed out groceriesto get into the holiday spirit wtva's gracyn ashmorewas at that event, and joins us live with why they felt this was important yeah shante, that event took place at the chandlers temple church in verona... serving one hundred families today... that church joined with other churches and organizations in order to give out boxes full of groceries...said to provide food for up to a week for families mount carmel church preacher melvin ambrose shares why he involved his church to serve today... "(we) just want to be a blessing to as many families as we can." and recognizing blessings is the reason the tupelo golden circle civic social club brought their members to pack boxes this morning... "they are so blessed, and it's time for them to learn how to bless others. so, it's important to be awell-rounded person, so youhave tolearn how to give back." chandlers temple church preacher lesha agnew worked all morning getting ready to give away the supplies... she said they started early after the parking lot began to fill up before the original start time...amazed at the turnout... "i just want to thank everyone for coming out. the overwhelming support from volunteers and people just giving. and the people here at chandler's temple civic church here in verona have been very supportive. they've taken the vision and ran with it andit'sspread over into the community. and i just pray that everyone has a happy holiday and that we made a difference in somebodies'life today." and they sure did make a difference in the lives of those served today... reporting in tupelo, gracyn ashmore wtva 9 news... now let's go back to meteorologist john dolusic in
