lee county residents now have a new way of helping the sheriff's department fight crime. and all you need, is a smart phone. the company "tip 4-1-1" has developed the 'lee co sheriff' app. the new app allows residents to connect with the department to find information, view alerts, and submit anonymous tips, all at the touch of their fingertips. residents in lee county without a smartphone will still be able to send an anonymous text tip via their cell phone to police by texting the key word 'l-c-s- o-tip' and their message to 8-4-7- 4-1-1. the app is free and available now via google play and the itunes app store.
