days before christmas three home fires in pontotoc county have destroyed the homes of three families the latest fire happened a few hours ago wtva's shante sumpter joins us live with the latest details craig this is very sad and unusal. it's been a busy time for officials here at the fire coordinators office. right now pontotoc fire coordinator adam patton says it looks like all three fires started in the kitchen. early wednesday afternoon crews battled fire number three.. family and friends could only watch as their home burned down.. pontotoc fire coordinator adam patton says it's believed a lawnmower on the side of the house caught fire, and spread to the house... this crazy trend began around 10:30 tuesday night on highway 341. this is what's left of that families home.. patton says the homeowner reported seeing a fire in the kitchen.. around midnight that same night, a family on westbend had the same fate... i was able to speak to a neighbor of the victims. he says they told him they believe the fire started in the kitchen on this side of the home. he says around midnight he heard a boom, then saw his neighbors on his porch with very little clothing and no shoes. for all 3 fires patton says the cause is undetermined, but no foul
