haven't been playing each other for long, but blue mountain and muw are starting to develop an area rivalry. they met in baseball back in april, and they've already met once in basketball this season. round two tonight in topper country. ladies first. muw controls the opening tip and rokila wallace drives in for a quick two.. the lady owls would open up a 14-3 first quarter lead afterrokilawallace gets a steal and lay-up at the other end... but, the lady toppers were able to shoot their way back into this one... marlee hatcher buries a deep three. the pontotoc native finished with 13 points... with time winding down in the 1st quarter, jada taylor misses....olivia chadwell grabs the rebound and beats the buzzer... bmc hung tough tonight, but muw pulls away late to win 76-67.. howard white: 'thats the test of a good team, how well you play on the road, can you overcome adversity on the road? they're gonna make runs because they're on their home floor. even a one or two point win, that's fine on the road.' lavon driskell: 'their size played a factor on us under the goal. they got some easy baskets that we just couldn't stop, but i was really proud of what we did. they beat us pretty good at their place. we came back and had a chance to win it tonight.'
