have identified a suspectthey say is responsible for an elderly woman's death last week. it happened in the palmetto community in south lee county west of verona.... on drive-45. wtva's rebecca butcher attended apress conference on the incident and joins us live now with details. this shooting wasnot random...according to authorities...and this was not the first time the 17-year-old suspect's been charged in a deadly altercation. latavious betts...is wanted in the deadly shooting of an elderly woman that happened last week in the palmetto community. johnson:"we want the general public to know that the individual who did the shooting and the individual that was shot were acquaintances, they knew each other." the motive behind the shooting that left three others injured--is still beinginvestigated.. resident jaylon ryandescribes the fatal drive-by to me as horrible.. jayan ryan, tupelo resident "you shouldn't always think with gunfire. use should think with your brain first. use the knowledge that god gaveyouso you won't make any dumb mistakes." we know bettswas out on bond and was previously charged in a drive-by shooting in verona at a car wash back in april. verona chief j.b. long tells me betts was involved in a shooting at a chevron station as well.
