to be careful on the roads and preparing for the worst of it. wtva's rebecca butcher joins us live now with how crews are gearing up. i'm here at..barnes crossing and gloster..it's possible that these roads behind me are going to be salted tomorrow if needed. we spoke to officials about how they are getting ready. if winter weather hits hard...bridges will be salted first by the mississippi department of transporation. here is a picture posted to twitter showing crews placing salt spreaders on the back of the trucks. ashley barnett, driver "driving. we drive extraslow, we've got kids. you got tobe careful." corporal jason roe with m-h-p advises youtomake sure your car is fully operational... corporal jason roe, troopf "ifyou're traveling somewhere make sure you have a plan,make sure if your car breaks down. know the area you're going to bein." while officials are keeping their eyes on the roads...residents are flocking to the stores for essentials like eggs and milk...in case the roads get slick. clay knight, manager kinght: "it's been pretty busy all day. a lot of people have come in for their holiday stuff and a lot of people ae having office parties." bridge: the manager here at food giant in saltillo tells me they are already running out of some bread. they'll be getting some more shipments in on thursday. elizabeth jackson, shopper "i have fourkidsso i stay prettystockedup. it doesn't really bother me on that.bedsides, i got to get out no matter what." crews will be watching the weather closely to see whether or not they will be needed early in the morning. live in tupelo, rebecca butcher wtva nine news. we have
