highs will be in the mid-30s. clouds should remain dominant through the rest of the day as well. we will likely begin our wednesday with showers increasing and temperatures near freezing. this will likely fall as rain east of us 45 at first. as rain wraps into our western counties, the rain transitions to a mix of rain, sleet and snow. with temperatures below freezing in areas, bridges and overpasses will likely become slick. snow showers will likely become more dominant in our northwestern counties later in the afternoon. this will continue into the night and overnight. significant snow accumulation is not expected. however, enough travel impacts are possible across our western counties that we may have advisories issued at some point later today. this light wintry precipitation will linger into wednesday night and thursday morning, exiting our region gradually through the north. at least a dusting will be likely across the northern parts of our area along us 72. this should all be out of here by mid- morning, leaving us with gradually clearing skies into thursday afternoon and evening. thursday's highs should reach into the lower 40s. we'll be clear again by friday morning with temperatures returning to the upper 20s and lower 30s. then during the day, we'll see sunshine. this will warm us up a good bit, likely into the mid-50s. this is still a solid 10 degrees below average, though. saturday will be much warmer with morning temperatures around the upper 30s and highs in the upper 50s to near 60. this comes with all sunshine and no rainfall. by sunday, we'll remain dry with sunshine. but clouds gradually return into the night as a cold front gradually approaches. this will come with no rain. but temperatures into monday will be a bit colder. monday's morning temperatures should be around the mid-30s followed by afternoon highs in the lower 50s. for more details, visit our website at wtva.com and download our wtva weather authority app. with the
