crimestoppers is asking the public's help in identifying a woman who was found dead in illinois back in 1976. wayne hereford is following the case and joins us live from columbus with more. thank you. columbus police chief fred shelton says the woman was a homicide victim whose body was was found in morris illinois in 1976. ." she is believed to have ties to columbus and lowndes county. the unidentified black female was found in a ditch in a rural part of grundy county illinois and the authorities there have asked the columbus police department with help in identifying the woman.
