mostly clear skies and much cooler temperatures. most of the area will see temperatures begin in the mid and upper 40s with only a few in the lower 50s. throughout the morning, we will see plenty of sunshine to warm us quickly into the mid-70s. some may only reach the lower 70s while others will come very close to 80 degrees. clouds do return into the afternoon, however. and by sunset, we could be seeing mostly cloudy skies. high school football games should remain dry, however. spotty showers will begin to roll into the region sometime shortly before midnight. spotty showers will continue through saturday morning, moving through fairly quickly. so most of saturday's rainfall will be concentrated in the morning hours. by midday, we'll see these moving through our southern counties or moving out of our area completely. this rainfall is accompanied by another cold front. so temperatures only reach into the mid-60s saturday afternoon. clouds will gradually clear out into sunday morning. though we are currently expected to be mostly clear sunday morning, i am not convinced the cloud coverage will move out as quickly as models suggest. therefore, i suspect we will at least be mostly clear to partly cloudy with temperatures in the lower 40s. if we clear out any more, we may dip into the upper 30s. through the day, a northerly flow will keep temperatures well below average, despite abundant sunshine. highs only reach the upper 50s and lower 60s. monday morning should be clear and a bit cooler, perhaps with morning lows into the upper 30s. areas just to our north, over west tennessee, could see their first frost of the fall season. temperatures will warm a bit more into the afternoon as winds switch out of the south. highs reach into the mid and upper
