tupelo is demolishing the president's gates apartment complex to make room for what it says is better low-income housing in the area. but as we told you last night, there are some who believe the city is actually contributing to the city's y homeless population by tearing the apartments down as some are actually using them for shelter. wayne hereford joins us live with more on the story. a member of the tupelo homeless task force says there were "no" homeless people living inside the presidents gates apartment complex before the demolition in fact , hannah maharrey says the task force has been watching the situation there very closely. city officials deny any such allegationsthat there were homeless people living inside of presidents gates apartments when demolition started earlier this month. in fact, the chairman of the tupelo homeless task force says that the organization has constantly swept through the area searching for homeless people and have not found any before or since the demolition started. hannah maharrey says that if anyone were inside the old condemned buildings they were likely there for force met this morning and reported that since may of 2017 that fifty homeless clients as they have been called have found hoimes. reporting live from tupelo i'm wayne hereford wtva nine news. a multi-car accident in monroe county
