talking rain chances any more substantial cold blast coming up. mother nature is finally bringing the chillsome of the coolest air of the season is on tap for tonight and a more significant blast of chilly air could be on the way in the extended forecast.dry/cool weather settles in for friday with temperatures starting in the mid 40s in reaching the upper 60s by afternoon. some spot could be about 10 below what is normal for this time of the year. planning ahead for friday night fever? pack the chilly weather stuff for your game. it's not going to be called per se, but in some cases it will be 30+ degrees colder than last week.the weekend is a split decision with the cooler day saturday but saturday is also the more likely to be dry. temperatures will start in the low 50s and upper 40s for early saturday morning reaching the lower to perhaps mid 70s by saturday afternoon. sunday, we will start in the lower perhaps even middle 60s reaching the mid-70s by afternoon.sunday is a tricky forecast because hey pretty substantial cold front will sit overhead. it could lead to a 20 contrast in temperatures from memphis to columbus. right now, we are expecting to stay on the warm side of that contrast on sunday and closer to the cool side for monday. aside from the temperature swing, that frontal boundary will be associated with 30 to 40% rain coverage where ever it settles sunday/monday. at this point, we expect the heaviest to be to the north and west of the natches trace on sunday and shifting east somewhat by monday.speaking specifically to monday's temperatures, i could've gone mid 80s in columbus and upper 50s in memphis. it's way too early to figure out where that front is going to park but just know that the "70" i'm putting on the seven day forecast doesn't really represent the potential contrast. the front should fully pass on tuesday and temperatures will be in the 40s to start and 60s the end for tuesday/wednesday/ thursday of next week. two local events coming up this weekend. one, taking you back in time nearly 150 years ago, the other, providing breakfast for a good cause. we'll tell you where they are as wtva 9 news at ten continues. thursday of next week. two local events coming up this weekend. one, taking you back in time nearly 150 years ago, the other, providing breakfast for a good cause. two local events coming up this weekend.
